Grief and Loss Essentials – how coaches can better companion clients through life transitions

Sheila Maith
Our current culture is grief and mourning phobic, not inviting people to recognize, honor, and express their grief. As coaches, we meet people during life transitions and too often, they are encouraged to stay strong, be brave, and focus on the future. Grief is our involuntary, internal and natural response to life losses including shattered dreams, failed performances, fractured relationships, death of family members and colleagues and transitions related to mergers, retirement and forced exits. The failure to integrate our grief results is increased anxiety, depression, exhaustion, and burn-out. Coaches will learn how to move through loss in a holistic and heart centered manner, creating the conditions for post traumatic growth and resilience.
The workshop will provide new language and a heart centered perspective on the topic of loss, grief, and mourning and how it can be integrated into your coaching practice. Join Dina Bell-Laroche, certified ICF Professional Coach and Grief Companion, as she shares her lived experience and expertise after working through a life shattering loss and her work and accompanying her clients through their grief and life transition journeys. This workshop includes a pre and post reflection workbook, presentation style, practices and Q&As.
